Making coffee is hard, so is taking off my boots

This morning I picked up my thermal coffee carafe, jiggled it, and was happy to find that it still had a cup or two of coffee in it, left over from the previous day. That meant I could remain seated on the couch with my laptop and put off disentangling myself from all the stuff I have plugged into it. In my current state of immobility and paralysis, I was more than happy to make the trade-off of drinking day-old cold coffee rather than trekking to the kitchen to measure and grind the beans, clean out the permanent filter, fill up the water reservoir, turn it on, and return to the couch only to get up again minutes later after it began making the gurgling noise indicating it was almost done.

Last night I went to bed with my boots on. It was snowing on and off all day. I had to make a late run to the pharmacy for one of my meds that I had run out of the previous day. Upon returning, unlacing my boots just didn't seem doable.

Somethings got to give.

Welcome to the blogosphere, I think you'll find a lot of support this way! Give yourself more credit, you went out to the pharmacy. Some days, I would feel so depressed that getting the mail was an enormous task. I've found that much of my depression was actually grief that was never processed or worked out for me. I think it sounds like you haven't finished grieving for some childhood feelings and loss of your marriage, and parenthood issues. I think it will help to write it out here. Once I addressed my emotional part of myself that was responding to life situations, and allowing myself to feel them; I was able to reduce medications and am currently almost off all of them. Anyway, it's OK to sleep w your boots on, and drink day old coffee too.

I don't see a problem wigh falling asleep with boots on- and most food tastes better on the second day.

I hope you are well and your kitties are doing well. BTW, you are now on my blog roll.

And ditto to what Stephany said. She is one incredible woman

@Stephany - Thanks for welcoming me to the blogosphere and being the very first to post a comment!

@Susan - The kitties are fine. The big orange tabby is sitting next to me as I type.

Thanks for the encouragement, both of you.

I use instant coffee. I advise you get some for the days you don't want to do all that work of grinding and washing etc.
I add sugar and milk-cream to my coffee.

I also keep that dried milk-cream stuff for when I run out of milk/cream.

Its good to have a backup
